Tulalip Resort Casino Completes Landmark Expansion and Renovation Project

Washington tribal gaming destination unveils finished multi-year transformation, expanding casino floor to more than 270,000 square feet

TULALIP, Wash., Sept. 16, 2026 - Tulalip Resort Casino has officially completed its extensive expansion and renovation project, culminating a multi-year investment that has transformed one of the Pacific Northwest's premier tribal gaming destinations. The finished project includes a 70,250-square-foot casino expansion, comprehensive property-wide renovations, new gaming amenities, upgraded dining venues, and design enhancements that celebrate the culture and traditions of the Tulalip Tribes.

The completion marks the end of a project first announced in late 2023 and launched in January 2024. Construction initially focused on a substantial north-side expansion before shifting to a top-to-bottom renovation of the existing casino floor and public spaces.

Expansion Opened in 2025, Full Project Finished in 2026

While the expanded gaming floor debuted on July 3, 2025, tribal officials emphasized at the time that the opening represented only a major milestone in a broader transformation effort. The expansion increased the property's footprint to approximately 270,250 square feet and added more than 400 slot machines, bringing the casino-wide total to more than 2,600 gaming devices.

The 2025 opening also introduced a new North Bar, outdoor patio seating, redesigned entrances, additional restrooms, and new architectural elements that offered guests a preview of the casino's future design direction. Following that phase, renovation work continued throughout the remainder of the casino and resort facilities.

Industry reports released in September 2026 confirmed that the full expansion and renovation project had been completed, delivering the vision originally outlined by tribal leaders and gaming executives.

Design Inspired by Tulalip Culture and the Salish Sea

A central focus of the renovation was the incorporation of visual elements honoring the Tulalip Tribes' heritage and the region's natural environment. The redesign features themes inspired by the Salish Sea, coastal shorelines, and forest ecosystems through the use of natural materials, custom artwork, and a palette of blues, grays, creams, copper, and gold tones.

One of the project's signature features is a new 38-foot-tall Center Bar that serves as a focal point on the gaming floor. The seven-ton structure incorporates symbolic sea-life imagery reflecting the coastal waters that have long shaped Tulalip culture and traditions.

Additional improvements include renovations to the high-limit slots area, upgrades to restaurant venues, modernized guest amenities, and refreshed gaming spaces designed to create a more immersive guest experience.

Tribal Leadership Highlights Long-Term Investment

The Tulalip Tribes described the project as a long-term investment in maintaining the resort casino's position as a leading gaming, entertainment, dining, and hospitality destination in the Pacific Northwest. Officials noted that guest feedback remained positive throughout the multi-year construction period as new phases of the project were unveiled.

The completed development strengthens the property's already significant presence in the regional gaming market. The resort continues to hold its AAA Four-Diamond designation and remains a major attraction alongside nearby retail, entertainment, and tourism destinations in Snohomish County.

Economic and Competitive Impact

The completion of the expansion and renovation positions Tulalip Resort Casino to compete aggressively for gaming and hospitality customers across the Pacific Northwest. With enhanced gaming capacity, updated amenities, new bars and entertainment spaces, and a refreshed visual identity, the property is expected to remain a key economic engine for the Tulalip Tribes and the surrounding region.

The finished project closes a three-year chapter of construction and investment, delivering a larger, modernized casino experience while showcasing cultural elements unique to the Tulalip Tribes.
